Alone on stage, composer and performer Yuka Okazaki plays her own symphony. With her clarinet, bass clarinet, metallophone, percussion and melodica she creates a personal sound universe using both classical and electronic instruments. She is much sought after for collaborations and collective projects and has worked on many animated films and documentaries as well as performed in museums and with dancers, and circus and street performers. She describes her 2022 EP Vers Le Lac Bleu as an invitation to travel to your own personal faraway landscape; a symphony that will awaken your senses and vibrate your most intimate memories. Born in Japan, surrounded by mountains and Japanese culture, Okazaki began playing the clarinet in middle school, before moving to France in 1987. There she studied the classical clarinet with renowned French clarinetist Professor Jacques Lancelot.
