Lambert Estate is proud to host Held Free: Skyscapes by Adele Justice.
Adele Justice is an emerging artist gaining momentum, with selections in several juried National prizes including the Kennedy Art Prize, and the Smallacombe Self Portrait Prize. Her paintings can appear so real that viewers mistake them for photographs, until a closer look reveals the artist's touch, decisions and brushstrokes.
Having spent her childhood living between Australia and New Zealand, Adele's artwork examines what connects us, comforts us and embodies the feeling of home. Currently living and working on Kaurna Country, Adele is also an experienced educator and sought after workshop facilitator.
The Held Free: Skyscapes series was created in response to the beautiful space at Lambert Estate Wines in Angaston. For a community that values the seasons and process, Adele has painted expansive, layered skyscapes on her largest canvases to date. This work reflects on the sky as something that holds, contains and connects us while remaining endlessly open.
The result is an immersive meditation on mood and atmosphere that is deeply enriched when experienced in person. The artworks in Held Free were made slowly and with attention, and are intended to live quietly with their viewers, holding space rather than asking for it. Held Free will be on show until the 15th of April.
Exhibition dates: 6 February - 15 April 2026
