Hummocks Station is only 90 minutes from Adelaide's central business district, but it feels like you are a million miles from anywhere!

Visitors to Hummocks Station will experience one of Australia's oldest pioneering sheep stations, with buildings dating date back to the early 1860s.

The restored store and trap shed can be a place to experience the history of sheep and wool. Woollen products, including Leahcim Wool " Farm to Yarn to You" (Fully Processed in Australia), can be purchased. The wool was grown by the sheep on the property.

Hummocks Station is the starting point for the Hummocks Rail Trail (a walking and bicycle trail), which meanders adjacent to the old railway line that goes through to Wallaroo.

At the start of the trail, you can see the old ruins where Thomas Elder loaded his first load of wool destined for England in 1879.

The Barunga Creek that runs through Hummocks Station is a haven for many native animals and birds that live amongst the beautiful, ancient red gums; this is a great area to bush camp.

Hummocks Station is very central to the Clare Valley, Yorke Peninsula, and the start of the Flinders Rangers, so it offers a great base from which to explore the region utilizing our accommodation and caravan park facilities.
