Join The Rising Sun each week from in the front bar for Sunday Roots & Blues — an easy afternoon of live music, local wines, cold pints and good company. Each Sunday features a different roots, blues or acoustic artist from South Australia and beyond.
Sunday 4 January - Tara Coates
Tara Coates (née Carragher) is an Adelaide based singer–songwriter and guitarist whose powerful songs and stage presence have taken her across Australia and the US, including a performance at Nashville's iconic Bluebird Café. She has supported Mia Dyson, Shane Nicholson, Liz Stringer and Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus), and was nominated for Female Artist of the Year at the 2017 South Australian Music Awards. Tara has appeared on The Yearlings' album All The Wandering, has played guitar in singer-songwriter Jen Lush's band and co-written an album with singer-songwriter and producer Sam Brittain. She also shares a long-running creative partnership with her husband, pianist Richard Coates - fuelling an ever-evolving musical career.
