A private conservation estate - MCBC was created as a place to slow down, be immersed in nature, tap into your wellness balancers.

Only a handful of guests experience MCBC at any one time, allowing the land, wildlife, and coastline to remain quiet and undisturbed.

The MCBC desert box is a shelter, and large sculpture - something akin to Doug Aitken's Mirage installation at Desert X. The MCBC materials are in constant exchange with nature, morphing, eroding, slowly softening, as they sit front-row to the Southern Ocean, one of Australia's harshest environments. There is something charmingly enough about this shelter and its reach. It is imperfect.

Guests say the 'property is better than the pictures. In a world of polished excess, there is a new wave of appreciation, richness, in imperfection: tactile textures, human traces, quiet emotion. A sun-faded book. A crack in the concrete. The beach track shaped by hand and instinct. There are gestures here reminiscent in a certain West Coast spirit, like that classic South Australian film Storm Boy (with a sprinkle of Mad Max or Pricilla) where dreamers live simply and slowly in a humpy among the dunes, close to the sea.
