Attraction
Just 8 km from the town centre along a sealed road, Back Beach is a popular surf spot for both locals and visitors. With consistent reef breaks, it’s a favorite among surfers, especially in front of and north of the Back Beach car park.
Beyond surfing, families love exploring the rock pools, making it a great spot to visit at low tide. It’s also an excellent location for beach fishing, with deep holes along the shoreline offering prime conditions for anglers.
Exploration & Safety
On low tide and small swell days, you can walk far south to explore the reef and large rock pools.
Not recommended for swimming at the main beach due to strong rips and persistent waves.
Strong, confident swimmers may access the southern beaches during low wave conditions.
Whether you're chasing waves, casting a line, or exploring the coastal rock pools, Back Beach offers a stunning natural escape near Streaky Bay.
