Attraction
Far beyond the crowds and city lights, Yalata Lands offers travellers a rare opportunity to experience the raw beauty of remote South Australia. Set along the spectacular coastline of the Great Australian Bight, approximately 1,000 kilometres west of Adelaide and 200 kilometres northwest of Ceduna, Yalata is a destination defined by dramatic landscapes, untouched beaches and rich Aboriginal culture.
Visitors can enjoy access to 15 unique camping sites spread across more than 50 kilometres of untouched coastline, with designated beach access points for vehicles and ATVs. A permit is needed to access some of Australia's best remote surf fishing locations. The waters are abundant with man-sized mulloway, snapper, Australian salmon and shark, while the rugged coastline delivers unforgettable sunsets, expansive sand dunes and true off-grid adventure. A pre-booked permit is required to enter the alcohol-free Yalata Aboriginal Lands to ensure this extraordinary environment and its cultural significance are carefully protected for future generations.
Despite its remote location, Yalata provides essential comforts for travellers. Yalata Roadhouse, off the Eyre Highway, is open daily offering hot meals, barista coffee, fuel, ev charging, and essential supplies. There's also an art space showcasing paintings and artefacts by local artists. Nearby, the Yalata Caravan Park features powered and unpowered campsites with amenities such as laundry facilities, camp kitchens and family-friendly accommodation. While here, visit the Head of Bight Whale Centre.
