Wake to the sound of Angus cattle in the paddocks and kookaburras in the gum trees. Step outside to find kangaroos grazing beside the spring-fed dam, with rolling Currency Creek hills unfolding beyond. This is life at Merilli1885, a luxury farmstay and agricultural tourism experience on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula.

Set on 90 private acres just one hour from Adelaide, Merilli1885 is exclusively booked for one group at a time. The restored and thoughtfully extended 1885 stone cottage sleeps up to four guests across two king suites with private bathrooms. Surrounded by 500-year-old gum trees, the cottage combines heritage character with refined contemporary comfort, including a bespoke kitchen, spacious living areas and uninterrupted rural views from every window.

The property is home to Merilli Angus, a nationally recognised Angus cattle breeding program. Guests can watch cattle grazing from the cottage and surrounding walking paths, hand-feed the resident horses with carrots provided by the hosts, and enjoy paddock-to-plate Merilli Angus beef during their stay. Guests travelling with horses can also bring their own horse by prior arrangement.

Despite its peaceful rural setting, Merilli1885 is only seven minutes from Middleton Beach and within easy reach of Port Elliot, Goolwa, Victor Harbor, McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek and the Willunga Farmers Market.
