Wine runs deep in the Leask family's veins. Born into the vineyards of the Hunter Valley, their journey led them to McLaren Vale, where their parents planted roots in 1980 with the acquisition of their first vineyard. Since then, the family has cultivated a collection of vineyards across this stunning region, nestled between the hills and the sea, all under the Hither and Yon estate.
At the heart of the brand are the Brothers Leask. Richard, the hands-on farmer and winemaker, brings life to the land, while Malcolm, the creative director, shapes the vision from within. What began as a humble "bottle project" in 2011 has since blossomed into a beloved wine label known for its authenticity and innovation.
Guided by the principles of regenerative agriculture, Hither and Yon embraces a holistic, forward-thinking approach to viticulture. This philosophy focuses on inputs rather than market trends, creating a natural tension in the wines that is released beautifully in the glass—capturing the essence of both vineyard and variety.
The team is deeply committed to this ethos. For them, it's a continuous cycle of giving back to the land, growing with purpose, and enjoying the process. Since becoming Carbon Neutral certified in February 2021, Hither and Yon has remained dedicated to crafting exceptional wines with a lighter footprint.
