Flinders Ranges and Outback

From $4.00

Community owned, Andamooka is a relaxed genuine outback caravan and camping ground, walking distance to the town hub and central to opal fossicking sites and a network of tracks to explore Andamooka's endless horizons. Offering 9 powered sites, ablution block with privacy, hot showers and toilets, separate toilet block, potable water, pump out station, undercover BBQ kitchen, shade shelter, and camping space with shelter. Kids are not forgotten, there's an undercover children's playground and skate ramp with a Pumptrack coming, located at the Ground and a splash pad located at the community hub.

Join in star-gazing activities, tour an underground opal mine or to Lake Torrens, outlying opal fields and scenic spots. Try fossicking for opal and have a go at cutting, shaping and polishing your find at the community lapidary shed open to public Saturday mornings and by arrangement. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or Friday night dinner at the cafe, explore intriguing historic cottages established circa 1930's, explore the underground opal museum, follow living history trails and Arty Andamooka trail, and wander through pop-up market stalls, historic displays and local art exhibitions at the Community Hall.

Most of all, live like a local, kick back, relax at the pace of the mid 1900's, perhaps around a campfire or sharing a coldie under a huge canopy of stars.
