Taralee is a Biodynamic certified stone fruit orchard in the Wirrabara Forest, in the Southern Flinders Ranges, 11 kilometres west of Wirrabara.
Accommodation is available in two self contained cottages which overlook the orchard and forest in quiet and scenic locations. Both have two bedrooms, plus a sofa bed in the lounge room, slow combustion wood fireplaces, split system air conditioning, and large north facing verandas. All linen is provided, and the kitchen is fully equipped. There is a camp fire area available for use during the cooler months. Firewood is provided.
The property comprises fruit orchards, vegetable gardens, free range poultry, geese, ducks, sheep and cattle.. Visitors are welcome to look over the property. We are happy to answer any questions, and children are welcome to help with the animal feeding.
The Heysen and Mawson Trails are nearby and the historic Old Forest Nursery is across the road, with a walking trail alongside the creek to the Ippinitchie Picnic Ground. A map showing walking and cycling trails is at the picnic ground.
It is an ideal location for bushwalking, cycling, exploring the region, or for simply sitting on the veranda or in front of the fire and enjoying a relaxing break.
