Experience the timeless Flinders Ranges aboard the Award Winning Pichi Richi Railway.
This historic railway line has been progressively restored and operated as a working museum since 1973 by dedicated Pichi Richi Railway volunteers. Operating full or half-day trips between Quorn and Port Augusta, on the last remaining operating portion of the "Old Ghan" line.

Afghan Express: steam-hauled train using timber-bodied carriages built in the late 1920s. Port Augusta to Quorn (return), includes stopping for lunch in historic Quorn, SA Tourism Tiny Tourism Town winner 2022.

Pichi Richi Explorer: steam-hauled train using South Australian railways carriages, some dating from the 19th century. Quorn to Woolshed Flat and return, half-day trip.

Coffee Pot Heritage Rail Experience: unique Steam Motor Coach No.1 , the last operating example operating worldwide. Day trip includes a welcome drink, canapés and a 3 course lunch. A unique experience for just 22 passengers.

Sundowner Explorer: twilight diesel train service, operates March and November. Relax aboard the Barwell Bull and watch the evening sun set.

Pichi Richi Railway Museum is free and located inside Quorn railway station, along with the Flinders Ranges Visitor Information Centre.
