The Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre is a regional gallery that showcases and celebrates the artistic and cultural significance of the Limestone Coast. Part of the City of Mount Gambier Council, the gallery is located in the heart of Mount Gambier, South Australia. We aim to provide dynamic and exciting national, regional and local exhibitions as a nationally recognised destination venue.
The Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre is home to South Australia's largest regional collection. With over 1500 items, from paintings and prints depicting the people and history of the Limestone Coast to a significant collection of Aboriginal and 20th Century Australian art, featured in ever-changing curated exhibitions throughout the year. Our impressive permanent collection is regularly rotated, proudly displayed alongside nationally acclaimed artists and exhibitions.
They offer an annual program of artists talks, education programs, curator-led tours and workshops inspired by our exhibitions. Check their current and upcoming exhibitions to find out what's on and look for workshops and activities that you can engage with, for all ages and abilities.
They also offer a daily screening of the movie 'Volcano', the story of Earth, Fire and Water. Beginning with the local Aboriginal Dreamtime story, Craitbul, this awesome big screen adventure weaves its way through the eight major volcanic eruptions that created Mount Gambier and the Kanawinka region.
