Tide be runnin’... Dagny Strand Exhibition
Limestone Coast
Event
Tide be runnin'... is a solo exhibition of painting, drawing and sculptures by Penola-based artist, Dagny Strand.
The tidelands are an in-between place. Whether under or above water, tidelands are constantly shifting with the ebb and flow of the ocean. For Strand, tidelands are also a metaphor for the human experience and the way the world shifts around us.
Dagny Strand is a multidisciplinary artist whose material choices are sensitive to the story she tells. Working across mediums and with recycled and found objects, Strand's work draws attention to the quiet moments and liminal spaces that she observes in the world around her.
Dagny Strand studied in London at the Shaftesbury Centre for Drawing and completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts at Adelaide University. She has won numerous awards including the John Shaw Neilson Acquisitive Art Prize, the Peake Prize, the Southern Ocean Art Prize, and the Wattle Range Art Prize.
