The property’s original and unpretentious farmhouse was once home to Captain Bill Drage, one of the River Murray’s last paddle-steamer captains. The buildings have been sympathetically restored with consideration and authenticity. It is ideal for 2-5 people who love history, nature, free access to kayaks and trails and the quirkiness of having amenities in out-buildings.
Within minutes of Renmark-Paringa, our property sits on the Murray River directly opposite the Murray River National Park. Explore the wetlands using our quality kayaks and easy creek trails.
The Captain’s Cottage is a renovated 1920's farmhouse and out-buildings situated 350m from the water's edge. Outdoors there is a fire pit, lovely shade area and plenty of lawned space for the kids to kick a footy.
Hire includes unlimited kayak and canoe use to explore the National Park and local kayak trails.
