Stansbury Water Tower Mural: A Coastal Masterpiece

Towering 25 meters high on Brentwood Road, the Stansbury Water Tower Mural is a breathtaking celebration of the town's natural beauty and vibrant marine life. Created by artist Mike Makatron—with assistance from Conrad Bizjak—this stunning artwork was completed in just 13 days (May 17–30, 2021), using a mix of spray gun and hand-painting techniques.

The mural brings Stansbury's coastal charm to life with vivid depictions of Blue Swimmer Crabs, Pelicans, Dolphins, Norfolk Island Trees, the iconic local jetty, rugged coastline, ribbon seaweed, and oysters. Each element reflects the rich biodiversity and scenic landscapes that define the area.

This project was made possible through the Regional Tourism Bushfire Recovery Grant program, supporting communities affected by the 2019 bushfires, in partnership with the Stansbury Progress Association, Yorke Peninsula Council, Yorke Peninsula Tourism, and SA Water. A must-see blend of art, nature, and community spirit!
