The Zanoni was a 3 masted Barque which sank in 1867 approximately 10 nautical miles south east of Ardrossan. She was not discovered until April 1983. Many of the artifacts retrieved from the wreck can now be viewed at the Ardrossan Museum. A short video about the Zanoni is available to watch in the Museum's Maritime room. The Zanoni is the most intact 19th century merchant sailing vessel located in South Australia. The Zanoni has been declared a Historic Shipwreck under the Historic Shipwreck Act 1981.
