Welcome to the world’s biggest cabaret festival, in the heart of Adelaide. The Adelaide Cabaret Festival heats up winter with a jam-packed program of local, national and international artists and an astounding array of classic and contemporary cabaret performances. Running from 7 June to 22 June, the festival is the largest of its kind in the world with major events at the Dunstan Playhouse, Artspace, Thebarton Theatre and beyond curated by RocKwiz’s Julia Zemiro.

Opening night – The House Is Live, Thebarton Theatre, 7 June
A one-night only spectacular kicks off the Adelaide Cabaret Festival with a celebration of eclectic cabaret performances. Featuring a line-up of some of the festival’s best acts, the opening night variety performance is the perfect opportunity to be immersed in the festival and get a taste for what’s to come. Led by Adelaide Cabaret Festival artistic director Julia Zemiro, see Australian cabaret icon Meow Meow alongside Paul Capsis, Reuben Kaye and Queenie van de Zandt and many more.
Kate Miller-Heidke, Thebarton Theatre, 22 June
Fresh from the Eurovision stage, experience award-winning Australian singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke’s ethereal voice and masterful song writing for yourself. Joined by collaborator Keir Nuttall, music genius Iain Grandage and a string quartet, together they will perform new arrangements of Kate’s most beloved material and give audiences a sneak preview of some brand-new songs. A must-see at the 2019 Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
Megan Mullally and Her Band Nancy And Beth, Dunstan Playhouse, 9-10 June
Emmy Award winning actress Megan Mullally of Will & Grace fame and Friday Night Lights’ Stephanie Hunt are the ultimate dream team in this critically-acclaimed musical comedy cabaret show. Megan Mullally and Her Band Nancy And Beth is a hilariously clever, fully choreographed but unscripted cabaret-gone-crazy experience championing female empowerment with childlike enthusiasm. If you’re a fan of comedy, this is a great step into the world of cabaret.
Ms. Lisa Fischer With Grand Baton, Dunstan Playhouse, 7-8 June
She’s shared the stage with The Rolling Stones, Sting, Tina Turner and Luther Vandross and now Grammy-winning powerhouse vocalist Lisa Fischer takes centre-stage at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Star of the Oscar-winning documentary 20 Feet from Stardom, Lisa performs everything from classic rock to R&B in her brand-new show, Ms Lisa Fischer with Grand Baton. A real crowd pleaser and one of the must-see shows at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
David Campbell Is Back In The Swing Of Things, Thebarton Theatre, 20 June
Beloved Australian entertainer David Campbell will perform the songs of Frank Sinatra, Lois Prima and Bobby Darin for this one night only performance. Having spent the last ten years working in television, radio and starring in musicals, David returns to his swing roots and will be joined on stage by a 14-piece ensemble.
