Explore Auburn: gateway to the Clare Valley

The rolling lush vines of Auburn welcome you to Clare Valley and signal the start of some of South Australia’s most fertile wine country. Just an hour and a half from Adelaide, this character-packed village is the southern gateway to Clare Valley and is home to historic cellar doors, restaurants and streets lined with heritage stone buildings. Feeling hungry? Head for Terroir Auburn, where local, seasonal produce is on the menu. With your stomach lined, wash it all down with a glass or two of Clare’s famed riesling; Taylors Wines and Mr Nobdy's await. Counteract the feasting by hiring some wheels from Clare and cycling 35 kilometres across stunning wine country along the Riesling Trail, which starts in Auburn, stopping to quench your thirst along the way.
