Experience Whyalla: The gateway to the Eyre Peninsula

Nestled on the shores of the upper Spencer Gulf, Whyalla is the gateway to the Eyre Peninsula. Surrounded by beautiful beaches, Whyalla is the biggest town in the region and home to a plethora of accommodation, shopping and dining options. But it’s an incredible natural phenomenon that really puts this historic seaside town on the map. Between May and August each year, Whyalla plays host to the annual migration of giant Australian cuttlefish, the only spot in the world the ‘chameleons of the sea’ are known to gather en-masse to breed. It’s a colourful underwater circus not to be missed and pureSA, Seven Senses Adventures or Cutty's Tours have your front row tickets to the show.
